2Bee Inspired Workshop – April 2024 – “Looking through” Art Journal Page

This workshop will be held in Canberra on Saturday 13th April 2024

It’s time to run another “blind” art journal page that covers different techniques used in our art journaling that will help you produce a beautiful art journal page that represents you. I’ve been thinking about this one for some time and thought it would be great for us to use Windows (or doors) to show us how far we have come.

This workshop will help you connect to your page….there is always a story to tell on every page you do, you just need to understand some techniques to show this. It is a free-form art journal page, so everyone’s page will be different, hence why there is no photo to taint your thoughts (haha).

Come with an open mind…and thoughts about what you like in art journaling. So excited to see what everyone will do!

This workshop will include the following materials;

• Collage/ old book paper
• Stamped image and sentiments
• Rice paper
• 12″x12″ white cardstock

What to Bring;

• Your own tools –  craft mat, apron, brushes (for paints and glues), palette knife, brayer (if you have one), pencil, ruler and eraser.
• Craft knife and cutting mat
• Journal book (larger one – 9″x12″ size) – bring another smaller one to put excess paint in etc.
• Gesso (prepare pages in journal book before class)
• Mixed Media Glue
• Your favorite Stencils – for mark-making, texture etc. (we have plenty in the store too if you need some!)
• Texture paste (crackle paste … your favourite ones)
• Your favorite paints (Stamperia, DW, Art by Marlene, Dylusions) or distress inks/oxides. I will be using Stamperia Allegro paints.
• Collage glue – multi matte medium, collage medium, gel medium etc. (whatever you have).
• Paint pen – black and white
• Archival Ink – Jet Black (or any archival black ink)
• IBT and Distress Oxide ink – vintage photo/walnut stain (for distressing edges)
• Script stamp
• Stabilo All pencil – black
• Your Creativity! While we show you the techniques, your project is your own and we encourage you to add your own touches

Anything you don’t have, we have in our store….we will have it on the day so no stressing.
